If you like war and romance My Secret War is the perfect book for you. In this book Madeline’s dad goes to war so she has to move somewhere else. She has to make new friends which is very hard for her but she finally makes one. They form a club that helps collect scrap metal that makes supplies for the war. Madeline and her best friend Johnny make an amazing discovery that changes lots of things. I would recommend this book for 5th-6th graders.
